Each public school system in Virginia has a committee to evaluate gifted programming and provide input for the direction the program takes in the future. This committee is called a Gifted Advisory Committee. For our 2011-2016 goals, the committee decided to create a Differentiated Education Plan. We reviewed plans adopted by other counties and designed one that would best accommodate our students and program. Classroom teachers complete the form to indicate differentiation taking place in the classroom and student behaviors exhibited during class time. Then another portion focuses on student performance during Search class. These reports are for students in grades 3-5 and will go home once a semester (2nd and 4th nine weeks) in report cards.
